From Richard Bryne's Blog Free Technology for Teachers, Richard gives us a great tool for building stories with a "comic strip" appeal. I am always looking at new ways to help my non-writers develop and build on their stories. I know they have them stuck in their heads, they just have the ability to get them out on paper. This planning tool, Storyboard That, gives these students a little help with the convenience of visualizing their stories. Definitely a tool I will be looking more into.
I love the "comic strip" appeal to motivate children to create storyboards and brainstorm on topics to create a "vitual" learning experience. Bitstrips.com provides a similar tool and has lesson plans already provide for you on the website itself. I used this website for my powerpoint assignment and I love referring teachers to this site. Its great!!
ReplyDeleteI love this ideas ! As the art teacher for my school I have worked several times with our english department helping student illustrate stories and have seen how powerful adding visuals can help students with lower writing skills. Programs like these will make it so much easier for students to organize their creative ideas .
